Description
Pumpkin Smoothie blends frozen banana, vanilla Greek yogurt, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and warm spices into a thick, frosty fall breakfast. Blend for a full three minutes to create a uniformly creamy drink with no icy pieces or pumpkin streaks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup (120 g) vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- 2 tablespoons (42 g or 30 ml) pure maple syrup
- 2/3 cup (150 g) pumpkin puree
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- Add the milk, vanilla Greek yogurt, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice to a blender, followed by the frozen banana and ice.
- Blend on high for at least 3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until completely smooth and uniform.
- If the smoothie is too thick to circulate, blend in a small amount of additional milk. If it is too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
- Taste, adjust the spice if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Freeze the banana in pieces so it moves through the blender more easily.
- Use plain pumpkin puree, not sweetened pumpkin pie filling.
- A thick Greek-style yogurt produces the creamiest texture.
- The smoothie is best served immediately before the ice melts and separation begins.
